The latest version of WordPress is now available for download. As with all major WordPress updates, Version 3.3 is named after a musician and this time around it’s named “Sonny” in honor of jazz saxophonist Sonny Stitt.
Despite tremendous competition from Tumblr and other platforms, WordPress continues to be the blogging platform of choice for the most serious bloggers and Web publishers. It also offers the robust functionality of a fully-featured CMS. Since Version 3.0 was released, WordPress has had over 65 million downloads.
Version 3.3 brings a host of improvements that include a new drag-and-drop media uploader, hover menus for the navigation, a new toolbar, improved co-editing support, and even a new Tumblr importer for those looking for a platform that’s a little more feature-rich.
